Medical Administrative Specialist

Job Description: The Medical Receptionist is responsible for the smooth administrative entry and exit of the patient. She/he determines any needs of the patient, updates any information and refers the patient to Financial Aid when appropriate. At the conclusion of their visit, the patient again interacts with the Medical Receptionist to close out their visit.

Qualifications:

High school graduate
A minimum of one year in healthcare environment
Fluent in English and Spanish required
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal, written and organization skills
Ability to deal with potentially stressful situation in a sensitive and caring manner
Computer experience necessary
Responsibilities:

Greet all patients
Answer telephone calls in professional manner
Register and update current information into MIS System and charts
Assist patients to fill out appropriate information on registration forms
Schedule and reschedule appointments
Verify patient's insurance eligibility
Tie out of daily charges and payments according to route slips, cash box and MIS System
Assist patients with any disabilities
Collect co-pays from patients
Send uninsured patients to Financial Aid Department
Other duties as assigned

Our Front Office Assistants are critical to our success as they are the first point of contact for our patients. 

 

 The selected candidate will be a liaison between our hearing specialists and our patients and as such, they are responsible for assisting the patients and making their visit to our office seamless.  Our patients are elderly and empathy as well as experience in a sales environment with a sense of urgency is a must!!

 

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm and one evening per week until 7pm.  Compensation is between $10 and $11.50 hourly (FIRM).
