Job DESCRIPTION
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, etc.), and records information in patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Administers injections, immunizations and allergy shots. Performs EKGs and other tests according to office protocol. Performs routine clerical functions, e.g., answering phones, taking off messages, completing forms, scheduling appointments, etc. After discussing with provider, calls patients to discuss care. Assists provider in minor procedures. Sterilizes equipment. Obtains prior authorizations for meds, as needed. Schedules patients for procedures (if applicable).

Job REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Medical Assistant Diploma.
Experience:
Six months to one year of physician office experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
