Round the clock counseling now available to DTC students!

Dawn Partners with Student Resource Services Inc.

WILMINGTON (JANUARY 8, 2008) Recognizing the need for additional support outside of the classroom, Dawn Training Centre now provides students with 24/7/365 counseling through its partnership with Student Resource Services, a St. Louis-based firm specializing in student retention. By calling a toll-free number, students can speak live with masters-level clinicians who can connect them with legal, financial and in-person psychological counseling. In addition, Student Resource Services has access to local resources for those who need face to face services or referrals to ancillary services.

“We realize that today’s adult and college-age students have many challenges and needs to be met outside of the classroom,” said Cheryl Zapata, Executive Vice President of DTC. “It’s important that they have access to an additional resource any time of the day or night. It’s a real point of difference for our students,” said Zapata.

Web-based articles and information on topics such as balancing job/work/family, time management and stress reduction can be found at www.studentlifetools.com. There, students who prefer to have questions answered via e-mail, they can choose the “Ask an Expert” function for a personal response from specialists in various subject areas.

“Student Resource Services has provided counseling and resource services to colleges throughout the country for the last fifteen years,” said William Rowe, President. “Dawn Training Centre’s partnership with Student Resource Services provides peace of mind to the student, and allows faculty and staff to focus on teaching and administration. It’s a win-win situation for everybody.”

Dawn will continue to provide on-campus advising to assist student needs. Students can reach DTC advisors by calling (302) 633-9075.
